Post-Royal Wedding: “The Tablet” publishes two articles on Teilhard and the Six Propositions

On Saturday 2 June 2018 The Tablet, the international Catholic weekly, doubtless spurred by Bishop Curry’s sermon at the recent royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle, published two articles on the notorious and long-lost Six Propositions signed by Teilhard de Chardin back in 1925.

There’s a short piece by Paul Bentley, who discovered the Six Propositions, entitled “The sixth proposition: A playwright’s search for the document that Teilhard was forced to sign, to show he was not a heretic, led him into a remote Roman archive.”

The second, longer, article is by Dr. David Grumett, Senior Lecturer in Theology and Ethics at the University of Edinburgh. It is headlined “Let his fire burn: The French theologian who featured in the sermon at the recent royal wedding is the subject of a petition asking Pope Francis to waive an official warning about his books. The story about his official clash with the Vatican has only now emerged.”
