Grumett & Bentley’s “Six Propositions” article tops “Zygon” downloads

Zygon, the journal for religion and science, reports in its December 2019 issue that the article Teilhard de Chardin, Original Sin, and the Six Propositions by David Grumett and Paul Bentley, published in June last year, became by far the most downloaded article (>3,000 times by April 2019) of the 2018 volume of Zygon. The article was based on original research and included the notorious Six Propositions which Teilhard was ordered to sign in 1925 to prove he wasn’t a heretic. The propositions were previously unknown.

The December 2019 issue of Zygon has an article by Kenneth Kemp – Teilhard de Chardin, the “Six Propositions,” and the Holy Office – in which he challenges Grumett and Bentley’s claim that the Holy Office was involved in the controversy.

It also publishes Grumett’s reply to Kemp’s challenge, entitled Teilhard, the Six Propositions, and Human Origins: A Response.
